My first mathoverflow question

My first mathoverflow question

In the H^3 upper half space model, is a hemiellipsoid perpendicular to the plane at infinity a minimal surface?

Maybe I can get more than 1 reputation point now, and be able to upvote other answers :)

  1. I gave you an upvote and an aswer. I don't know what ye be meaning by minimal surface, though.

  2. Thank you wendy krieger :)  By minimal surface, I mean that the mean curvature (within hyperbolic space) of the surface is everywhere zero.

Even though an ellipsoid has positive mean curvature in euclidean space, I suspect this shape in the upper half space model can be minimal inside H^3.
